I’m Alish Thapa, a passionate paragliding and skydiving instructor from Nepal. Ever since I was a child, I felt a deep connection to the sky. Flying has never just been a profession for me – it’s been my way of life, my freedom, and my greatest source of joy. I started paragliding in 2011, and from that moment on, I knew I had found my element. I pushed myself hard– learning, experimenting, and eventually diving into aerobatic paragliding. In 2013, I was honoured to win the Best Acrobatic Display, a moment that gave me confidence to keep pushing boundaries. I also became 2nd runner-up in a Tandem XC competition, which further deepened my love for both performance and competition. I’ve been lucky to travel across the world– from France and Switzerland to Turkey, China, and India– performing demo shows and judging top competitions like the Accuracy World Cup and Pre-World Cup Acro events. I’ve also been part of elite training programs like the ENSA Workshop (2019) and APPI Workshop (2020), continuously learning and growing with some of the best in the field. Teaching is my passion. Whether it’s guiding a beginner through their first flight or helping someone master advanced manoeuvres, I find joy in sharing the sky and knowledge with others. As a proud member of the Nepal Acro Team, I strive to elevate the aerial sports scene in Nepal and inspire the next generation of sky adventurers. The sky is where I come alive – and every time I take off, I’m reminded why I chose this path. It’s not just about flying. It’s about living fully."
