Sharon was born and raised in a small town in the Italian Dolomites. As a kid she was never too interested in the outdoors until she started travelling. After living in four different Countries she realised how special and magical her mountains were, and she has been trying to make up for lost time ever since. She was introduced to paragliding back in Italy the day before leaving for Australia with a surprise tandem flight. But it was only in New Zealand after she was exposed to the awesome community and vibe of the sport that she knew she wanted to become a paragliding pilot. She was introduced to BGD by a friend who was flying an Echo, the colours were striking and no other wing was getting the same attention on launch as the colourful BGD wings. After reading Bruce’s story she was convinced and the Echo is now her every day hike and fly buddy. Sharon’s mission is to get more women in this male dominated sport that everyone sees as too scary, too crazy, too dangerous and give paragliding the exposure it deserves with her marketing skills. If not flying you can find her climbing, mountain biking and hiking in the beautiful Sea to Sky corridor.
