Congratulations to BGD Team Pilot Utku Berk Ersoy, who is Turkey’s new Junior Champion 2026. He won the Championships flying the DIVA 2. BGD Comp Pilot Nezih Şensoy is vice-champion, flying the CURE 3.
This year’s Turkish national Championships (13-18 July) were held in Simav, and decided over just one day, 18 July, with a 46km task. Utku and Nezih were 5th and 12th overall.
On 16 July 2026, there was no task because of very strong north winds at the competition location. The dedicated pilots jumped in the car and travelled 5.5 hours to the east to Ayas, where they had a really big XC day. Utku flew 286km and Nezih 262.83km (XContest distances using 2 turnpoints). Congratulations to both pilots!
