Ed started flying in 2021. It was the Covid pandemic, and people couldn’t travel abroad. He booked a week's course at a tow location close to his house. His original plan had been to combine flying with climbing, but he soon discovered XC and that has really taken over! Paragliding has taken him all over the world in the last 3 years, to locations he would have probably not have visited otherwise. He's currently flying the Lynx 2, his first C wing, and it's taken him on his first 100km+ flights. He says he loves the ease of launch and being able to land in tight spots. Ed is keen to start investing more time into vol-biv and pushing UK XC distances. Flying in the mountains is what he enjoys most about paragliding, and the Hunza Valley is top of his must-fly list! Fitting it all in with a 2-year-old daughter is a constant balancing act though.
