David Chaumet flies 285km from his home site in Portugal.

A big congratulations to David Chaumet for

flying his Tala ML from Azinha in Sierre de Estrela, Portugal to just north of

Segovia in Spain.



David said three of them launched at 12:30

and conditions were stable at first with an inversion at 1500m making it

difficult to leave the area of the Sierrra. They did not really get going until

2 hours later when the unstable air before a front approached and broke the

inversion. Cloudbase was at 3500m with a 25-30 km/h tailwind at cloudbase

making the conditions very nice to fly. It is the first time such a flight has

been done in pleasant conditions without too much wind or over development.
