Congratulations to Claire Garnesson, who finished second woman in the Bornes to Fly 2022. She flew the Base 2 Lite in the 200km hike-and-fly race, and was just three kilometres from goal when the clock stopped.
The race started and finished on the shores of lake Annecy, and always attracts a very high-level field of competitors. This year it ran from 27th - 29th May. Claire said it was intense, with magical moments, breathtaking landscapes and great flying with friends.
Red Bull X-Alps athlete Kinga Masztalerz took the top step of the women's podium, with Sylvain Koch-Mathian the overall winner, ahead of second-placed Sébastien Ibanez.
The supporter plays a vital role in races like this, and the Bornes to Fly honoured this with a supporter's trophy. It was won by Franck Malleus, Guillaume Vendrin's supporter, who supported on a bike, carrying a bank of solar panels to recharge all the electronics. Bravo Franck and team #hakunamatafly!
