Valentin Biffiger

Valentin was born in Valais, Switzerland, His uncle flew paragliders, and Valentin volunteered at the PWC in Fiesch back in 1996. Before taking to the skies he first threw himself into alpinism, freeriding, and downhill biking. “All were thrilling, but they were only shadows of the freedom I finally found once my feet left the ground”. Paragliding competitions drew him initially, but now he's most into long cross-country adventures. He says the joy is not only in distance and discovery but in sharing the sky with birds and exploring remote mountain worlds unreachable by any other means of travel. Flying across the Valais, Jura, Ticino, and beyond, "each flight feels like a story written in the wind. Along the way, my flying friends have become some of the most important friendships in my life".   Future goals include long-distance XC in the Sports Class and obtaining his tandem licence, to share the beauty of flight with other people and also to fly alongside trained birds of prey in his parahawking project. Beyond personal goals, he says what matters most is to inspire others and spark their passion. “I believe the world today is often too distracted from what people truly long to experience. When we follow our real passions – whether in the sky or elsewhere – we create lives that feel meaningful, and in turn, we awaken a society that dares to dream again. Through paragliding, I want to share this message: freedom is not just in the air – it is in daring to live the life you dream of. “
