Vagner started flying in 2012. He wanted an athletic endeavour that would challenge not only his physical but also his mental capacities – he found it in free flight. In 2017 Vagner claimed the World Record for Straight Distance to a Declared Goal with a 451 km flight from Caicó, Brazil. That same year, he flew 524 km (also from Caicó), joining the elite group of pilots who have broken the 500 km barrier. Operating from the CSMVL launch in São Sebastião da Bela Vista (MG), he trains and guides the next generation of cross-country pilots. At this club, he was the 2025 Annual XC League Champion and currently holds the record for the largest FAI Triangle (143 km). In December 2024, he set the Bahia State Record with a 421 km flight on the Diva 2, proving the massive potential of the country's unexplored regions. His approach perfectly blends performance and teaching: he relies on the Diva 2 for record attempts, the Cure 2 for XC training and coaching, and the Dual 2 for professional tandem flights. Vagner say he is proud to have BGD by his side on every adventure. From teaching students on the Cure 2 to breaking records on the Diva 2, this partnership is built on trust and performance.
