The dream of flying has been with Martin for as long as he can remember, although he confesses he is actually very afraid of heights! From the stunt kites and model aeroplanes of his childhood, he finally realised his dream of flight when he took up paragliding on his 40th birthday. Since then it has become a passion, his balance, and a source of freedom. In the 2024/25 season, he started distance flying and mastered his first 40 km triangles. His next goal is already set: a 100 km FAI triangle, and visiting more flying areas. Martin says that for him it's not necessarily the longest flights that remain in your memory, sometimes it's the evening glides at sunset; It's not athletic performance that counts, but the magic of the moment. "Every time my feet leave the ground, it becomes the most beautiful flight for me". Martin's girlfriend is a paraglider pilot too and is very understanding of the time he spends on his passion!
