In 2009 after finising Med school, Andrea’s best friend invited her to do a tandem in San Felix, close to Medellin, the City in Colombia where she was born. She instantly fell in love with paragliding, and started to learn to fly herself. She says flying every day and hanging out with other pilots really helped her improve her skills. She learned to do spiral SAT, stall, fly back and helicopter, as well as some XC. Her new paragliding friends became her family! She then moved to Brazil to study Orthopaedic surgery. The flying family grew, and the list of great sites to fly also grew. Andrea loves to travel around in her yellow Combi van (check out @laguapaoverlander on Insta) with her partner Beto, who is also a paragliding pilot. Andrea’s dream is to continue traveling around the world, and keep flying until the end of her life! She’d love to learn to fly tandem, and learn more acro tricks like Misty, tumbling, Infinity, and maybe take part in accuracy competition.
