Olivier Nicolet

switzerland

Olivier started mountaineering at a very young age, and dreamed of becoming a mountain guide. When he was 15 he discovered a new way to come down from the mountains – paragliding! He and his father and immediately signed up for the very first school in Switzerland, and Olivier got his solo licence at the age of 16. At 20, his professional tandem paragliding license in hand, he was finally able to share his passion. A few years later he became a UIAGM professional mountain-guide and since his two passions of mountain guiding and paragliding are also his professions. He flies tandems professionally in the Alps around Gstaad, Gruyère and Interlaken but also Chamonix, Diablerets Glacier and Morocco. Out of season he builds adventure zip-line parks and via-ferratas and on rainy days he renovate antiques and other vintage objects. He and his beautiful travelling family spent three years in Turkey, developing a new climbing area called Datça. They bolted more then 300 climbing routes, and developed and managed a camp site for the climbers. The family spent 6 years on the road, rock climbing, flying and canyoning. He says it was the best 6 years of their lives so far! His friend Damien Lecire lent him a BGD glider, and Olivier immediately fell in love with the great comfort, the unique andling and of course the beautiful colours of the Base 2 Lite and Lynx 2.
