Ulrike Jüse

norway

Ulrike started her flying career in 1998 with hang gliding in the Alps. In 2013, after several years without flying due to little spare time and too much work, she finally converted to paragliding after moving to Norway. In the Norwegian mountains flying a paraglider is much more convenient then hang gliding as there is little infrastructure for transporting a glider up to the mountain top you would like to fly from or when landing somewhere remote.
Ulrike loves exploring the mountains, especially multi-day trips, whether hiking, skiing, by kayak, bicycle or with her paraglider. She simply loves the views and the getting away from the crowds and into nature.
To begin with, Ulrike was actually most interested in combining flying with hiking, climbing and skiing, as a fast and fun way for descending from summits. Then she experienced her first XC flights, and loves this very special way of exploring the world from a very different angle, surfing below the clouds.
Since 2017, Ulrike has been flying the CURE, a glider that suits her flying style and the ever-changing conditions in the North. This wing is just perfect for her, being a light pilot who needs a sensitive and safe wing with enough speed and good glide performance for proper XC adventures.
